This Saturday, Clean Agency participated in the Eco Mud Run Tour at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena!

Our team likes to think of ourselves as an active group, consistently participating in local runs and maintaining our own preferred methods of fitness, however, this event proved to challenge even the best of us. As if the 5K course around the perimeter of the bowl was not enough, the handful of obstacles - tunnel crawls, mud pits, tire obstacles, jump walls, surely kept us on our muddy toes.

All in all, we had a great time and are proud to support a group placing an emphasis on the importance of environmental awareness.

This week, Clean Agency participated in the 2010 Sustainable Brands Conference in Monterey, California. This year's theme, "The Power of &" , sparked 4 days of insightful dialogue among Sustainability Executives, Brand Strategists, Designers, Innovators, Consultants and Marketers.

"& " served as the underlying theme as brand leaders from Target, Ford, EBay, Starbuck's, Williams-Sonoma, Nokia (to name a few) revealed tactics on achieving the tandem business benefits of sustainability through focus on: profitability & responsibility; business & NGO, behavior & design, smart & beautiful...

The Sky's the Limit for Clean

Posted by Heidi on Mar 04, 2009 under

We've been hearing a lot surrounding a lift in avionics towards sustainability. So, last week Seri and I carpooled over to the Anaheim Convention Center to check out this year's HELI-EXPO.

With Chief Pilot Woody McClendon as our guide, we were thrilled to glide through a vast collection of 'helos' and engines, and meet some folks in the business. This year's exhibitors included Bell, Rolls Royce, Eurocopter, and Agusta Westland to name a few. Among the green initiatives taking flight: Honeywell has collaborated with Boeing and are using biofuel on demonstration flights (for Japan Airlines, Air New Zealand, and Continental) and are using data to eventually influence commercial use. There's also a "Clean Sky" Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) that was launched last year in Europe to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce noise and create a green product life cycle. A lot of these vendors are starting to join up.

We're excited about the prospect of Clean working with this new facet of business and greening the blue skies!

Among the notable advancements in manufacturing, Rolls Royce featured this "microfire" engine which uses advanced materials and heat-exchanger innovations to increase fuel-efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
